Disaster Ministries Trips - On October 2, 2011 we had a group of 12 head to Pulaski, Virginia, to service with Brethren Disaster Ministires. Early this year Pulaski was devastated by tornadoes. The team included Betty Altic, Ann Andrus, Sandi Davis, Carol Goss, Ginny Heatwole, Jack Mace, Peggy Mace, Nancy Martin, Steve Martin, Judy McCloud, and Shirley Wampler.

 

In 2010, a group went to Chalmette, Lousiana to work on the St. Bernard Project. Our group (Ann Andrus, David Brunk, Sandi Davis, Jack & Peggy Mace, & Shirley Wampler) went September 18-25, 2010 along with a group from the Shenandoah District of the Church of the Brethren.

On September 26, 2009, a team from West Richmond headed out for a

week in Hammond, Indiana, an urban area in the northwest corner of the state, west of Gary. Hammond was hit with a devastating storm caused by remnants of Hurricane Ike in 2008. Nearly 90 homes in this lower income area are still in need of assistance. Our team included Betty Altic, Ann Andrus, David Brunk, Sandi Davis, Carol Goss, Jeff Goss, Ginny Heatwole, Ken Heatwole, Barbara McCann, Larry McCann, and Terry Mitchell.
