Disaster Ministries Trip - On September 26, 2009, a team from West Richmond headed out for a week in Hammond, Indiana, an urban area
in the northwest corner of the state, west of Gary. Hammond was hit with a devastating storm caused by remnants of Hurricane Ike in 2008. Nearly 90 homes in this lower income area are still in need of assistance. Our team included Betty Altic, Ann Andrus, David Brunk, Sandi Davis, Carol Goss, Jeff Goss, Ginny Heatwole, Ken Heatwole, Barbara McCann, Larry McCann, and Terry Mitchell.
Another trip is planned for this fall -- this time to Chalmette, Lousiana
to work on theSt. Bernard Project. Our group of six (Ann Andrus, David Brunk, Sandi Davis, Jack & Peggy Mace, and Shirley Wampler) will go September 18-25, along with a group from the Shenandoah District. Contact Sandi Davis for more information.
